OSPCPTWN 195: Public Memory Research Tutorial

The major research project presents students with an opportunity to choose a research topic related to the presence of pre-history in post-apartheid national memory. The focus will be on the symbols, statements and formal performance of national identity as seen in the various state-sanctioned public art projects and newly created memory sites in Cape Town. This may include Cederberg Rock Art, Iziko Museum;  District Six Museum, Robben Island Museum and other archives, libraries, and museums.
